The National Credit Union Coalition (NCUCAH) proudly announces Greg Cook as Chairman of the Advisory Board.

Greg Cook, CEO of University of Toledo Federal Credit Union and a distinguished U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, brings a wealth of leadership and purpose to this role. His background and experience strongly align with NCUCAH’s mission: Honoring Our Heroes, Empowering Their Dreams — connecting Veterans and Credit Unions in meaningful ways.

Please join us in celebrating and learn more about his remarkable journey:

Raised in a low-income family and poor neighborhood, Greg wanted more for his life and sought a better future through education, recognizing it would advance his career goals. After visiting the University of Toledo but facing financial barriers and the inability to afford the opportunity, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps—following in his grandfather’s footsteps who was an Iwo Jima Marine.

Using the GI Bill, Greg earned a degree in Financial Management and launched a mortgage company that grew across three states. Over the years he founded, bought and sold multiple businesses and worked with two Fortune 500 companies. Even through the financial crisis, Greg was able to launch another successful venture in lead generation for mortgage lending. Against all obstacles, Greg finds a way to pursue his goals and achieve success while remaining closely connected with his roots, and true embodiment of the US Marine Corps League motto, Semper Fidelis—Always Faithful.

His journey led him back to the University of Toledo, where he served within the University’s management. However, his successful career path reconnected him back to finances, serving on the credit union’s supervisory committee. He formally joined the board of directors and became a natural candidate for the credit union’s CEO position. In 2023, he was appointed CEO of University of Toledo Federal Credit Union after a rigorous interviewing process.
As CEO, Greg said he “has fallen in love with the credit union philosophy of People Helping People.” Greg took quick action to advance areas of lending, operations, efficiency, finance metrics and increasing revenue; however his goal remains to make the “credit union more of service to their membership.” Greg’s forward-thinking determination has brought CUSO’s to the credit union for collaboration. With his unwavering belief that there continues to be a “real need for the credit union movement,” Greg has embraced modernization. “Having always been interested in growth and technology, I am currently exploring opportunities within the credit union industry using artificial intelligence with a new CUSO being formed.”

Speaking to his new role as Advisory Board Chairman, Greg said, “After learning about the NCUCAH and their objectives in promoting credit unions and the need to help veterans, I couldn’t say ‘no’ to working with them and their founder, Katherine Pratt. I immediately saw where credit unions would benefit by finding ways to help support America’s heroes.” Greg’s innovation, vision-to-action mentality, and passion for the credit union industry combined with his deep personal connection to military service, make him the ideal leader for the Advisory Board.

Please join us in celebrating Greg Cook and welcoming his leadership to the Coalition.
